Desole pour les multi posts. ca a l'airra ssez complique en fait les K et W (s'est l'amerique aussi..). apparement au bout d'un moment il n'y avait plus assez de W donc ils ont assignés des K aux US aussi:
"Around 1953, the FCC was running out of W 1x3 call signs. So1x3 K calls began to be issued in the 48 states, with US possessions receiving 2x2 and 2x3 K calls. Novice calls in the 48 states continued to have the N (such as KN4LOD) which was dropped after upgrading. Had some reports of reissued calls about this time."

Department of Commerce, as the United States licensing authority, began using the W and K prefixes for amateur stations. In 1927 in Washington, DC there was an International Radiotelegraph Convention wherein prefixes were decided. The U.S. had assigned to it the prefix letters W and K, the W for all amateur stations within the continental US and the K for US insular possessions and Alaska. The Department of Commerce began issuing W and K ham licenses on October 1, 1928 and at the same time instructed all U.S. amateurs to follow suit.

Et je viens de penser à 1 truc : peut être que les ours hibernent en hiver? Qu'en dit le gouvernator du Golden State. Je sui ssur que tu l'as déja contacté non?
Sinon pour ce qui est de notre question pourquoi toutes les radios commencent pas un K? J'ai un début de réponse, mais tu peux continuer à mener l'enquete.. A l'ouest du Mississipi c'est K, à l'est c'est W. Ca permet de savoir rien qu'en écoutant la radio ou tu es sur l'immense territoire US. Maintenant pourquoi K et W? mystère, peut etre que les ours sont au courant...
