L'atelier de poterie/ The pottery studio

Bon aujourd`hui je vais vous parler de notre deuxieme maison ici: l`atelier de poterie....
Un endroit vraiment a part, au milieu du campus de Berkeley. Deja, gros point positif, il y fait toujours chaud (a cause des fours....). L`atelier est en face du local ou repete la fanfare. Les jours de matchs c`est assez fun. Plus de 10 tours et des profs dispos qui nous font partager les secrets de la terre avec leur passion et beaucoup de pedagogie. Et puis ce cote tres pedagogie americaine (enfin c`est ma seule experience), de ne jamais se moquer ou denigrer le travail d`un eleve mais plutot dans tirer tous les points constructifs. Comme souvent en amerique chacun est dans son petit truc...Par exemple depuis une semaine je croise une fille qui sculpte un petit rhinoceros ou encore une autre nana qui a moule des cornets de glaces geants en grande quantite... Ouvert le week end et tous les jours en semaine jusqu`a 10 heures....Bref quand on est ni au labo, ni dans notre home sweet home, ni en train de tenter un road trip avec aller et retour triomphal avec le camion c`est qu`en general on est la bas....

Today, I'm gonna talk to you about our second home here: the pottery studio... A kind of separate reality place, in the middle of Berkeley campus. To start with, a positive point: it's always hot in there (because of the kilns). The studio is right in front of the place where the fanfare repeats. On game days, it's kinda funny. More than ten wheels, and teachers always available to share clay secrets and their passion, with lots of pedagogy. And this americain educational approach (well, it's my only experience), of never pulling the leg of a student but rather exploit positive points. As often in the US, everyone is doing his buisness... For example, for more than one week now, I met this girl sculpting a large rhinoceros, or this other one molding ice cream cones in large quantities... Open on weekends and on weekdays until 10PM... Well, if we are neither in the lab, nor in our home sweet home, nor intenting a roadtrip with triumphal comeback with the van, we're likeley to be there...
